The Water Fellowship Project, conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (TOB), the Ministry of National Education (MEB), and the TEMA Foundation, continues to deliver important information to children and teachers regarding the protection of water resources and the efficient use of water. Launched under the Water Efficiency Campaign following a cooperation protocol signed in April, the project is set to continue its activities throughout the 2024-2025 academic year.
Raising Awareness within the Water Efficiency Campaign
Türkiye’s location in the Mediterranean region, combined with rapid population growth and the effects of industrialization, makes the protection of water resources a vital priority. In light of this reality, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry launched the Water Efficiency Campaign in 2023, marking a significant initiative aimed at protecting and efficiently utilizing Turkey’s water resources.
Children Develop Water Consciousness through the Water Brotherhood Project
The Water Fellowship Project uses specially designed educational materials for 3rd and 4th-grade students to convey the value of water for life in a fun and interactive way. The activities within the project cover topics such as global water resources, the water cycle, water ecosystems, water footprint, water usage, water conservation, and efficiency. Children learn to contribute voluntarily to water conservation at home and in their schools. Additionally, various materials prepared for the project, including an application guide, educational presentations, an animated film, and a children’s book, aim to spark children’s curiosity about water resources. The project aims to reach a total of 10,000 children throughout 2024.
